Embracing Change

Embracing change is hard for all of us, humans tend to resist change and stay with the Status Quo, but change is usually good for Humanity and helps push us forward as a species.
My Daughter must have seen The Little Mermaid over 1000 times during the first few years of her life.  At first she loved the colors and the music and as she got older she loved the movie and moved on to Mulan, for the next 1000 views.

Last year, I entered the Ride-share world by becoming a Lyft Driver.  6 Months ago, I entered the Food Delivery business by becoming a Dasher and last month, I applied to Amazon Flex to enter the package delivery business. All 3 of these independent contractor opportunities have 1 thing in common, delivery apps tied into Google Maps.

Flashback to 1981, I was a Computer Science Student at Stony Brook University, learning programming using punch cards, taking classes with teachers that now have University Streets and Buildings named after them, like Marberger Drive.  She was talking about a new idea, recursive algorithms, which allows programs to make a decision, gather information about that choice, and then go back to that starting point and make a different decision and gather information on that choice and so on, and so on, and so on until all possible outcomes have been explored, letting tbe program decide the best option based on the goals of the program.  She mentioned a mapping application to determine the best route from point A to point B.  Combining this recursive algorithm technology along with GPS technology, Google Maps was born, which is the backbone of the three delivery apps I mentioned above and many more.

Rideshare Apps... Lyft, Uber, Via, Juno
Food Delivery Apps... DoorDash, Uber Eats, GrubHub
Package Delivery Apps... Amazon Flex

CBS News Reported on February that for the first time in history, U.S, Restaurants are projecting to make more money form food consumed outside their doors.  Food Delivery swelled to a $10 Billion Industry, which just started in the early 2000's.  It took just under 2 decades to reach that point.

**** Actually, now with this new world we are living in, Restaurants hit 100% of their food consumed outside their doors this week!

There is a lot of cross over between these apps, but they all have in common an army of Independent Contractors available to service the needs of the communities.

As a Lyft Driver, I have driven riders to 7-11 and back so they can do their shopping, driven riders to Subway and back to work to get their lunch and I have heard people us Lyft to deliver packages, such as auto parts to a mechanic.

As a DoorDash Driver, Handy Pantry and 24 hour deli's are on the list of restaurants, so we can do so food shopping for our DoorDash Clients.

As a Future Amazon Flex driver, I can see them, along with packages, deliver Amazon Fresh and Grocery store deliveries, as long as the stores pick and packages the order.

All this was possible because we were able to embrace change and build upon what was done previously.

Dude, Where's my car? IRL

I never thought I would ever utter these words in real life...  Dude, where's my car?
Turns out on a Sunny Saturday afternoon in early September, I actually had to say those words a few times.

My car needed brakes and a friend in Commack offered to help me make the repairs early Saturday morning.  Since I had a Roadside Assistance Company Policy, I decided to have my car towed to Commack the night before so we could fix my car bright and early Saturday morning.  Both the Roadside Assistance Company and The Towing Company said it was fine to drop off the car on my Friends driveway and leave the keys in the Mailbox.  So, they towed my car on Friday night and that's the last time I saw it until about 12:33 pm the next day, about 12 hours after it left us.
After the Tow Truck left, we went to bed, expecting to wake up early and join our friend to repair my brakes.  At about 7:15 am, as we were about to head over to Commack, I get a text that my car is not in his driveway.   Hmmm, I was a little worried, but I was sure that maybe he parked it in the street or in the parking lot across the street.  I asked if the keys were in the mailbox, and they were not there.  Hmmmm, starting to get more worried, but I had the Tow Truck Drivers Cell, since he called to confirm the pickup, ask for directions to my car and again to verify the drop off in Commack, since there were cars in the destinations driveway.  So I called and called and texted and called to no avail.
Meanwhile, we decided to head over to Commack while waiting for a response from our Tow Truck Driver.  We made it to my friends house, drove around the nearby blocks searching for my car.
At this point, over an hour had passed with no reply from our friendly Nieborhood Tow Truck Driver and my car is parked on the street in front of someone's house in Commack, with the keys in their mailbox, my brake pads and Rotars in the trunk and that's the first time I said... Dude, where's my car?

At this point, after google mapping variations of the Commack address without any luck, we called the Roadside Assistance Company to see if those Dude's could find my car.  After about a hour or two waiting at a Starbuck.s in Commack, the Roadside Assistance Company conferenced in the owner of the Towing Company and the first thing I said was, you guessed it... Dude, where's my car?   He didn't get the movie reference, and he said he would let me know where my car was ASAP.  Thanks to a GPS tracker on his tow trucks, he told me that it was 2.1 miles away in front of a similar sounding address across town.

We made our way to the wrong address and there it was, parked in front of a lovely home in Commack, minding it's own business, with niebors mowing their lawns,  enjoying the beautiful weather and ignoring my misplaced car.  We rang the bell after retreiving my keys from the mailbox to give the homeowner a heads up about why my  car was in front of his house with the keys in their mailbox.  After a good laugh we thanked him and he thanked us for the heads up, and we proceeded to get my car to where is should of been over 12 hours ago.
Well, my brakes got repaired, I got  content for my Blog and now I have to watch that movie or write a screen play for the Sequel to... Dude, Where's my car?

Networking Hints and Tips...

Networking Hints and Tips...
I have been networking for almost 10 years and I have learned a thing or two along the way.
Plan your Networking Week.
There are so many great networking events all across Long Island, that it could take up your entire week.  By reviewing and deciding which networking events you would like to attend early in the week, you can better plan your business and entrepreneurial tasks around the more important and/or exciting networking events.
Mingle with new contacts.

Everyone's instinct is to mingle with people you know, people you are friends or colleagues with, but you need to reach out to new people in order to increase your network.

There is a difference between B2B and B2C networking and you need to tailor your pitch and approach differently, depending on your audience.

Take advantage during low turnout networking events.  Some of my best networking opportunities occurred when I was at a poorly attended networking event.  It's like having a one-on-one with one, two or three networkers.   We had all already put aside the time to be at the networking event, so we did deep Dives in each other's business and had a tremendous meeting, and thst meeting actually ran over by 30 minutes.   Another time, I was at a networking event when where only one other person attended, and from that encounter we are now working on a project together.   it's sort of like taking lemons and making Mike's Hard Lemonade.
Some of my best networking is done before and after the presentation or seminar.  Arriving early gives you time to network with less of a crowd around.  SAfter listening to audience questions,  comments and elevator pitches,  you know who you can help with your products & services or give referrals to other's in your Business Network.

Referrals.  A lot of networkers only think of themselves while networking and forget about their network.  By referring businesses in your network, you are helping 3 people, the referral company, your networking contact and yourself.  By helping others, referrals will come your way as well.

Following up with potential clients is essential and should be done within 72 hours from first contact, first by email and then with a phone call.  The old adage, "If you build it, it will come" only works in the movies.  I reality, you need to market, follow up and advertise what you have built.  That is the difference between a Hobby and a Business.  If you are at the Hobby Stage of your business, you go to networking meetings, exchange business cards and expect clients to come knocking.  When you leave the Hobby stage and decided to "Work" your business, you not only need to build it, you need to get the clients.  That involves following up with potential clients, improving your social media and a website.
Your web site doesn't have to be expensive or flashy, but it should represent your business.  A website is like a storefront in a Brick and Mortar business.  It is what your clients see and it represents your business and what you and your business can do for them.

While networking, be sure to remember and use the name of the person you are talking to.  If you use their name at least 3 times, it will help you remember their name and show that you are interested in them as a person and not just a networking referral.

Our Common Welfare

I was inspired to write this from a group I belong to looking for words of wisdom about Common Welfare and Unity.

"No man is an Island"
"It takes 2 to Tango"
"It takes a Village"

Just a few sayings saying the same thing, we are not alone and our common welfare should come first.

No man, woman or child can or should have to be alone, whether it comes to recovery, survival or companionship.
Personal recovery depends on unity, united we stand, divided we fall.  We are called the United States of America and look what happened in our own recent history when we were divided as a country.  We almost fell, the Civil War costed us so many lives, so much destruction and so much pain, and for what.
After we re-united as a country, we grew to be the most powerful country in the world, helping other countries when called upon or when needed and became champions of the greater good,

Unity can do the same for our personal recovery, common welfare and our greater community.

Only with Unity can we prosper, only with Unity can we recover and only with Unity can we become better as a people.  So let's all Unite and work on our personal recovery, our friends and neighbors personal recovery and our common welfare as a United Nation, Under God, Indivisible with Justice for all.

Free Concert Tickets, or are they?

I have been entering Facebook Contests for free tickets lately and I have been winning a lot.

The first set of tickets that I won were for Foreigner at Jones Beach.  The problem was that I was notified, by email, on Thursday Night for a concert on Friday, which I didn't read until Monday.  So, does that count as winning.  And to make matters worse, when I told Carrie this story, she checked her email and found out that she won too, but never read the email either.

So, lesson learned.  I started making sure I read all my emails on a daily basis, especially from Live Nation.  Then it happened, I won 2 Tickets for Brad Paisley at Jones beach.  Hot Dog.  I posted it on facebook, to get all my friends jealous, and went with Carrie to the Concert.  As we arrived, I realized that my free tickets were only free if we walked to Jones Beach.  The dreaded parking fee!  Oh well, pay for parking, get our seats, which were great, enjoyed the Concert, our $10 beers and $8 Pepsi's and went live so our friends could experience a bit of the concert from home.  All said and done, a great night out, but our Free Tickets costed us about $55 in parking fees, drinking and eating.  Still a great night, great weather and a packed house rocking with Brad Paisley.

So, a week later, as I can checking my emails, I won again.  This time it was 2 lawn tickets to see Larry the Cable Guy at the Bald Hill, PennySaver Amphitheater last night.  As I'm posting to facebook to make my friends jealous again,  Carrie tells me she won as well.  So now we post that we won 4 tickets and who wanted to share in our good fortune.   One of our friends from Nassau County took us up on the offer and in exchange for the free tickets, she offered to stop at Dough-ology and pick up some pre-concert treats.  Doughnuts and a Show for free, this just keeps getting better and better.  Until we show up for the show.

We get there a half hour before the show and there is one guy, managing 2 rows of cars, asking for a $20 parking fee.  He's not in a booth, not even in a uniform.  He's just standing there collecting $20 bills from all the cars entering the Amphitheatre.  I said that we won free tickets and wondered if that applied to the parking as well.  The answer was a resounding No!  So I asked him if took credit cards and the answer was a resounding No!  Then I gave him a $50 Bill, figuring it would be easier to break it there, rather that at the concession stand.  This time, the answer was a exasperating yes.  We got out change and parked our car.

So then it started to rain a bit, so we got our jackets, met our friends and went to get our free tickets at the ticket booth,  The Ticket agent was very nice and friendly, and she upgraded our Lawn Seats to the Orchestra and all our seats were together.  $38 more dollars for food and drinks, $16 for 2 beers and $8 for a diet coke and Flavored Spiked Seltzer water with some sort of alcohol, but I could tell you which one from the taste.  So, if my math is right, our 4 free tickets and 4 free Doughnuts, Thanks to Melissa, That was sweet of her, costed us $85.  (Yes it's right, I added $3 in tips)

Aside from being rained on for about 45 minutes, it was a great show.  Larry the Cable Guy was hilarious and a good time was had by all,  But Free, I think not.  But it was Priceless!

Jan 7th, 2019 update:
We just won tickets to the Big Apple Circus.  We may need to start a GoFundMe campaign! LOL

Modern Job Searches

What The Files have to do with it...

I miss the old days of job searches.  I made up my resume, gave it to a Headhunter.
The Headhunter then Faxes the companies that have requirements that you can fill.
(In one case, back to the company I was working for, but that's a story for another day)

The Headhunter then gets 2 or 3 responses from companies he solicits and BAM, I got an interview.  I nail the interview and get the job.  This worked for Loral Fairchild Systems, United Parcel Services, Automatic Data Processing, Merrill Lynch and CitiBank.

After I got laid off from CitiBank, NA, the hiring paradigm changed dramatically.
Gone are the days of smooshing the department heads for favors in exchange for baseball tickets, concert tickets or booze.  Now all vendors must be treated the same, we all become cogs in the machine and there is no one to champion your skills, get the inside lead on a new job or even meet potential hiring manager with all the security in and around the buildings in Manhattan.

Enter Monster, the self proclaimed solution to get jobs and fill jobs.  It was Wall Street's baby, the solution to everyones problems.  A glorified program to take over for Headhunters.  Headhunters who had years of experience, tons of connections and an eye for talent.

So, my resume has been on Monster since the Great Layoff of 2001.  Merrill Lynch was having financial issues and their solution was to hire away tons of Project Managers, Programmers and the like to fix all of their problems in 4 years.  I was hired in July of 1998, promised a bigger Y2K bonus that I would of had if I stayed at ADP and my Salary jumped 25% - 50% depending on the bonus structure.  Making 90K Plus bonus as a Senior Project Manager was great in 1998.  We all got Merrill Lynch through the Y2k "Bug" and we all got nice Y2k and regular bonuses.

Work was going well for a while longer with new projects, T+3 going to T + 1, Improved processing of Physical Securities.  That was when a relative died and you found physical stock certificates for AT&T or IBM in the attic and you just became part of the 1% overnight.

One dark and dreary day, in the summer of 2001, I was summoned to my managers office with the news of my layoff.  I was given a few boxes and a Limo ride back to Oakdale on Long Island.  I received a decent severance package, about 12 weeks of full Salary, at which point I received 50% of last years bonus as a parting gift.

When I got home late that afternoon, about 2 hours earlier that I usually got home, thanks to the Limo and the Layoff, my wife and kids were so impressed that I came home in a Limo.  I could just imaging what they were thinking.  Promotion to President, a business trip leaving tonight or a surprise dinner for the family.  Boy were they let down.

I was given a Job Search firm that I could go to in Manhattan, to update my resume, learn about the new job search paradigm and bitch about being laid off with fellow Merrill Lynch employees that were in the same China Shop.  (Bet you thought I was going to say boat)

They taught us the virtues of this new system, no more hit or miss with headhunters, no more favors in back alleys and no more being unfair.  Everyone was being treated the same.  Our resumes spoke to our skill set, our application spoke to our heritage and the almighty Job Search Engines will match you to the perfect job in seconds.

Well, I burned through my 12 week severance being a stay at home dad, fixing the kids lunches, joining the PTA, getting them ready for school, helping with their homework when they got home and watching movies as a family after my wife cooked dinner.

While the kids were at school, I took off my Stay at home Dad hat and became Resume Man.  I looked for jobs in the NY Times, Newsday and online.  Kept a detailed job search log, tailored each resume to the specific job I was applying for and joined as many Job Search sites that I could get my Keyboard and Mouse to.

My wife at the time said that she has never seen me work so hard in my life.  I was a machine,  My Goal was to get a new job at 6 weeks and get paid double for the next six weeks since a had a job.  Then we could celebrate the extra cash by going on a weekend trip, Dinner, the City ecetera.

I burned through the 12 week severance and applied for unemployment.  Thay asked if I got a bonus payout as part of my package,  I said yes and they said that my unemployment would start when my bonus was used up paying my bills.  I calculated that to be in Mid-December.  Great Timing, no job and no money for Christmas.

Linked in was starting to get really popular at the time, asking you to connect with former co-workers, former companies and former acquaintances.  Anyone to get your foot in the door and do what Headhunters use to do for you, drop your resume on the desk of the hiring manager!

After Thanksgiving, I called Louis from Merrill Lynch. He worked for me for a few month and handed me his resignation, saying it wasn't me, it was him.  He wanted to go back to CitiBank to work for his old Boss.  He got more money, better hours and a bigger bonus.  I figured that maybe there was some money floating around for me.

We chatted for about 15 minutes, reminiscing about the old Merrill Lynch days, Au Bon Pain and their Voluptuous waitresses.  Then a light bulb went off in Louis's head.  His boss was starting a new CitiGold Project and was looking for a Project Manager.  Given by Merrill Lynch background, I would be a great fit, but it would be a Consulting Job and I would not be an employee, but CitiBank tends to hire the consultants they like.  Sort of a try it before you buy it deal.   He hung up with me and went to talk to Jay.

Wow, after 15 weeks of working the system, signing up for literally dozens of Job Sites, and making hundreds of cold and warm calls, something is finally breaking my way.  Louis said that Jay was interested and that I needed to go through a consulting company.  He suggested a few and I sign up with on of them and Jay got my resume through normal channels as well.

The first Thursday in December of 1998, if you want the date, go look it up, I was at a Tridex DB2 Networking Meeting in MetroTech  Brooklyn.  I got a call from the hiring manager at the Consulting Company and she said Jay wanted to meet me.  I said I was busy the rest of the day, but was free on Friday and all next week for an interview.

The next few hours at the meeting was a total Blur.  Money was running out, bills were piling up and mid december was a week or 2 away.  I know that once Unemployment started, I would become a statistic as one of the many Wall Street VP's that have fallen from grace.
It would be that much harder to get a job, swimming in the swamp of the Unemployed.

Finally, I got the call.  She said how was Monday at 9:00.  I was taken back as most interviews are later in the morning or afternoon.  She then proceeded to tell me that Jay interview Louis to find out about me and he trusted Louis's judgement.  I got the job without setting foot into a CitiBank Building or even talking to the hiring manager.  I was making more money as a consultant for CitiBank than I was as a VP at Merrill Lynch and Christmas was saved.

I'm still getting emails from the Job Search engines, saying they have a perfect match for my skills, background and experience.  That's what prompted me to write this blog on the rainy Saturday afternoon.  So I clicked to see this great job.  It was for an Expert Systems Engineer at AllScripts.  I am an Expert and many things but I am not an engineer, systems or otherwise.  I have never worked at Big Pharma and when I clicked on the job to find out how perfect it was, the job was filled and directed me to a Data Mining position.  Since I don't like canaries, I wasn't interested.

As a final note, the hiring manager at the Consulting Company said that Jay told her that as long as I done have three heads, I had the job.  That weekend I was cutting off the doll heads of the dolls that my daughter never plays with, but then I thought better of it.  Looking back though, Jay would of gotten a kick out of it.

I'm Back, Again

I have decided to give my Consulting Company, Blogging and Writing another chance.

I started my Consulting Company, Ace Consulting Expeditors, Inc. on December 23rd, 2009.  It is now the Summer of 2018 and after a 2-3 year hiatus due to personal, medical and financial reasons, I have decided to Reboot my Company, restart my Blog, write a book and start a Vlog, The Vlogging Ace, on YouTube and Facebook as well as Booking Long Island Live Music Venues with the Medical Talent I have seen, met and befriended over the years.

The difference this time is that my personal, medical and financial issues have worked themselves out, I have met a wonderful woman that I have been dating since August 12, 2015 and my two children are over 21, settled down and thriving in their careers and personal life and my marriage has been dissolved as of September 11th, 2012.  Yes, I get the Irony, my disaster of a marriage ended on September 11th, the worst day in recent American History.  To be fair, only the last year or two of my marriage and the ensuing divorce were a disaster.   The Courtship, Marriage and Children that were created due to my relationship with my Ex Wife have been the greatest years of my life.  My Children, Eric and Elizabeth, have become wonderful, responsible and caring human beings despite the divorce.   Over the past few years, my Mom's Parkinson disease progressed to the point of her passing in June 2017,  I have resolved, at least in my opinion, my medical and financial issues and my relationship with my Sweetie is blooming into something I thought I could never achieve again in my lifetime.

I originally started my company after I was laid off from my VP IT Project Management position at CitiBank, NA, while in the midst of my divorce and my life was in chaos.  Looking back, it was more of an escape from the turmoil of my life that a fully fledged business.  I learned a great deal from opening and operating my business over these past years.  I reactivated my Real Estate Licence, explored the possibility of opening a restaurant or brick and mortar business and  sharpened my knowledge of Social Media, Website Sales and marketing.  I learned that people, in general, do not like to say no, provide constructive criticism to your ideas or give you money to hire you to help them improve their business.  Entrepreneurs, as a group, feel that they know what to do and would rather make money than spent money with their business.

This knowledge has equipped me rebuild my business strategy to make Ace Consulting Expeditors, Inc. the successful business that I always wanted it to be.  Only this time, I do not need to make a lot of money from my business to survive and prosper.  I can do what I love to do, help people with their businesses, and if I make some money along the way, great, if not, oh well.  My new financial situation is allowing me to buy a new-ish Truck, a 2012 mid size pickup, enjoy time with my Sweetie going to Live Music Venues, singing Karaoke and enjoying the pleasures of  the Long Island Restaurant Scene and each other.

Carrie, my Sweetie, has really blossomed into a great photographer over the years.  When I met her, she was taking fantastic pictures with her I Phone 5 and a Cannon point a shoot camera.  She has been honored with the News12, Facebook Camera Clubs Cover page honors more than once and has been paid for home weeding shoots, many portrait and event photo shoots.  Now she is equipped with her new Cannon EOS T6 Camera and she finally decided to create her Facebook business page for her photography.  The hardest part was coming up with a unique name for her business.  Would you believe that there are dozens of Carrie Leigh Photographers on Facebook from all over the world.  I guess with a name like Carrie Leigh, you are destined to be a photographer.

So, as I'm starting my new Vlog, The Vlogging Ace, rebooting by Blog, The Blogging Ace and starting to book Long Island Musical Venues as The Booking Ace, I'm having fun.  If I make money along the way, it'll be a bonus.  I'll conclude with this thought...

If you Love what you are doing for a living, its not really work.

Thank you all, in advance, for your support of my second act.

Seven dates in Seven days...

My first book of many...

Last week I met a woman on a dating website and we hit it off real well.  We loved each others profiles, we messaged each other and seemed to be compatible and finally, we called and confirmed that we both wanted a FTF (Face To Face)

As we were deciding where to go, I found out that her children were away for the week and she was "free" for the next seven days, and then I came up with a brilliant idea, why not date each day for the next seven days and really get to know each other before her kids return the following Monday night, then we could write a book on the experience from both points of view.

I explained that if we proceeded with my idea, at the end of 7 days, she would have 3 options...

1. Kick me to the curb and have no impact to her kids.
2, We keep dating incognito, and if and when she feels ready, I get introduced to the kids
3. This go so well that she introduces me to her kids as their new Dad when they we pick them up at the airport.

She agreed and thought it would be fun and our first date was dinner and a movie, which BTW went extremely well for a first date from a free dating site.  We exchanged dating site horror stories, ex-spouse horror stories, talked about our kids and almost missed the start of the movie since we were having such a great time together.

The previous week, I met a Self Published Author and I found out about an Amazon self publishing web site that was free and I could make money even if I only sell one book,  I fond the site, created an account, complete with tax forms and my bank account number so they can deposit my royalties.  If someone orders a real book, they print it on demand and ship it the next day, even if its only one book,  The book will also be available as an eBook and again, for each copy sold, I make money with no initial investment of any kind except for my time and talent.  I put in the book title and a description for the book jacket and a publishing date of 10/10/2015, just in time for the Christmas buying season.  I think this book would make a great stocking stuffier.

I hit enter and it was done, with the next step being uploading the book cover art and the book itself in their format via the format word processor that they provide free of charge.  I downloaded it and was ready to go, so I saved my session so I can upload the book when I was ready.  Then the site came up with a deadline of September 24th, 2015 to get the book published in time for the 10/10/2015 publishing date and that pre-orders of the book are being accepted starting today.

So, I haven't checked yet, but I may have already sold a copy of the book if someone pre-ordered it.  I'll have to check, but if I get a pre-order, I'm committed.  No pressure at all... OMG...

Today is our 6th date and so far, I'd say option 1 is defiantly off the table.  The first 5 dates and the time in between the dates have been magical to say the least.  I met her BFF's on our 4th date and she met my Mom during out 5th date.   (Details to follow in the book, this is called a teaser)

Today, for our 6th date, we were invited, as a couple, to one of her BFF's Dad's Birthday BBQ, and for tomorrows 7th and final 7 dates in 7 days, we are repeating our second date because we loved the Burgers at the Bar we went to. It's been a great week so far and we really got to know each other and enjoyed the time we had together.  I felt like a teenager with their parents on vacation and being able to use the house for "recreational activities" while they were gone, sort of like Risky Business without the big party or the Egg incident.

Well that's all for now, so if you liked my blog and want more details about our 7 dates in 7 days, please feel free to pre-order my book on Amazon or contact me and I'll sell you an autographed copy on 10/10/2015.

Also, I have other books in the works over the years but never acted on them since I thought that I had to pay to get self published and bla, bla, bla... so Yadda, Yadda, Yadda...I am now a pre-published Author working on my first of many books.

P.S. So far, I'm thinking this book would make a great movie, so watch out world, ACE is ready to take you on...LOL...OMG...LMFAO.  I'm thinking Albert Brooks for my part and Meryl Streep for the female lead, I loved their chemistry in "Defending Your Life".  If you haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend it.

P.S. I have some news about the ending of this book,  We broke up last week the day before her Birthday.  It seems that I was competing with another man and the lesser man won.  At least I have an ending to my book.  After about 18 dates in 25 days, we broke up via text messaging, ironically, that how we started the relationship, via text after meeting on an Online Dating Site.  Anyway, now that I have an ending, I better get cracking if I am to make my 10/10/2015 publishing date.  :-)

P.P.S. I have meet the Love of my Life and I have let the deadline slip, but I am committed to writing this book and will come up with a new deadline and stick to it.  She has even offered to help me write the book and collaborate giving me the woman's point of view.  Thanks Carrie...
